West of Tradition

A DOCUMENTARY FILM — IN THEATERS 2026
A New Chapter West of Tradition.
West of Tradition is a documentary about the distillers, farmers, and dreamers of the Pacific Northwest who are rewriting the rules of American whiskey. From the barley fields of the Palouse to the rackhouses of the Skagit Valley, the film follows Westland Distillery and a community of makers proving that American single malt respects and challenges the traditions of Kentucky, and not Scotland.
Featuring the bartenders, blenders, and believers building a new category from the ground up, West of Tradition is a portrait of a region, a craft, and the relentless optimism it takes to start a new chapter in American whiskey.
