From Seattle to the World Stage: Our impact at the 2025 Icons of Whisky Awards

As distillers, we stand at the forefront of whiskey, exploring where few have ventured before. In doing so, we’ve often found ourselves with award-winning whiskeys in hand. Each cask we fill tells the story of Pacific Northwest terroir, a testament to our uncompromising commitment to quality and the rich ingredients sourced from our home region. It’s this dedication, to craft, to place, and to the people we meet along the way that leaves a lasting impact.

We don’t believe in shortcuts. That’s just one small reason why a bottle of our single malt whiskey can’t be made overnight. Our vision has always been long-term: to tell a story of time and place through our whiskeys and, ultimately, to leave the world better than we found it.

On this journey, we take a moment to pause and share a milestone: Westland has been named Sustainable Distillery of the Year. This recognition comes one year after achieving the highly prestigious Certified B Corporation status, serving as a powerful reminder of the global impact our whiskeys can have. Our commitment to this place continues to be recognized with honors that reflect both our values and our craft.

Yet, we know that our greatest efforts in sustainability would mean little without exceptional whiskey in the glass. That’s why we are incredibly proud to announce that Garryana Edition 9 has been named Category Winner for Best American Single Malt (No Age Statement) at the World Whiskies Awards. Time and again, Garryana stands as our truest testament to Pacific Northwest terroir, capturing attention for the unique flavors imparted by Garry Oak, found right in our own backyard.

In addition to being named Sustainable Distillery of the Year, we are honored to receive recognition for Production Team of the Year and Marketing Team of the Year. From sourcing our grain to sending bottles across the world, from welcoming guests at our distillery to sharing a dram with friends, every person connected to Westland plays a role in our success.

We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished and even more excited for the road ahead. As we continue to push the boundaries of American Single Malt, we remain committed to crafting whiskey that reflects our home, our values, and our vision for the future.
