The Westland Cocktail Collective

In Westland’s ongoing pursuit of flavor, whiskey is only part of the story. Exploring the artisan cocktail is its own exciting frontier, where curious, passionate people use whiskey to push boundaries, challenge assumptions and traditions, and elevate the cocktail to new levels of craft and sophistication.

Westland founded the Westland Cocktail Collective to recognize and celebrate like-minded individuals who have made a name for themselves in pursuing their craft. The Collective brings together esteemed bartenders from some of the country’s most innovative cocktail bars, and its members are selected to share ideas and push the limits of how whiskey is used in craft cocktails. 

To inaugurate the formation of the Cocktail Collective, Westland brought together its first seven members for a gathering at the world’s edge in a centuries-old log cabin lodge for three days of exploration, camaraderie, discussion, and delicious cocktails.

Each member was asked to prepare two cocktails that featured Westland Flagship Whiskey. The first was to be a signature cocktail that expressed themselves as an artisan and pushed the boundaries of their craft. The second was to create a new take on something more attainable for the home bartender. The goal was to experience each member’s talent and unique vision and to foster a dialogue about the nuance of whiskey and its endless possibilities within a craft cocktail. The results were wide-ranging, expressive, inspired, unexpected, and delicious. 

Over the next few weeks, Westland will share the results of these bartenders’ expertise and creativity, releasing tutorials, recipes, and interviews that begin to showcase the vast potential of whiskey-based cocktails. Watch for updates on our social channels, or come back here for future updates.
